Users review: What House was to medicine, Elementary is to investigating. The writing is clever, fast paced and smart. Our eccentric lead Holmes instead of having a drug dependency for his gimp leg like House, is a recovering drug addict who is being observed by Watson to keep him clean. They writers really make an effort to spell out the deductive-reasoning details, and for the most part, its plausible, IMO. The plots snake thru twists and turns at a feverish pace and Holmes dedication is relentless. You get the feeling he behaves this way to keep him mind from allowing his addiction to regain control. Lucy Liu , who I love, is curiously restrained in her role to offset Holmess incessant espousing. Her deductive skills are far less than Holmes but she brings medical expertise to the table. They have a unique but likable chemistry. It seems obvious to me that at some point Lius character will be developed more and eventually Holmes is going to have some sort of relapse. I can only hope this show maintains this level of intensity without sacrificing credibility, but for now, IMO, its one of mainstreams networks finest.

Users review: The only reason Ive been watching this since episode 1 is in some blind hope of a miraculous recovery. Unfortunately theres no sign of it, every episode is as bad as the previous ones, or even worse. Finally Im giving up.Shockingly superficial developments, lack of the slightest resemblance of rationality and unbelievable/unrelatable characters, no patience with the writing. It seems more like theatre than TV, everything is exaggerated to a point of hilarity. No subtlety, its all very quickly done with little appreciation of human nature. Tries to live off its shock value, both in the gratuitous violence and the ridiculously simplistic unrealistic developments and characters.To me the acting is also poor, especially of the followers, they are so theatrical, doesnt suit motion picture. Kevin Bacon is also unimpressive but theres not much he could have done with the lousy script. Its all very lifeless.Very disappointing, spend your time watching some insightful documentaries instead.Id feel guilty giving it 1 out of 10, after all I did struggle through a few episodes. So I give it 3, cos Im having a good day.

Users review: Theres something special about the Hetty character – she is the center of the show in a unique way. The other characters look to her, respect her, protect her…for such a tiny woman, she packs a mighty punch…strength and wisdom and courage…the show needs her. She brings the team together, she brings cohesiveness and, despite her professionalism, she brings warmth. She hasnt been in the show for a bit and I know that I, and many others Ive spoken to, just dont find the show as compelling without Hetty. The other characters are strong and well played, also essential but they are a team because Hetty centers them. We know this is only fiction but its great fiction. I hope they bring Hetty back full time – she has everyones back and they have hers…and each others.
