Description (Opis) – In the Roman Catholic tradition, the month of May is known as the “May Crowning” when we celebrate and honor the Virgin Mary, as the “Queen of May”. On behalf of the Sokoł Polish Ensemble, we would like to invite you to a Premiere of a Marian Concert; an evening of songs and music dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
W tradycji Katolickiej, miesiąc Maja jest uznane jako “Ukoronowanie Majowego” gdzie celebrujemy i szanujemy Maryja Dziewica jako “Królową Maju”. W imieniu Chóru Sokoła, zapraszamy ciebie na premiera Koncertu Mariannego; wieczór w którym będzie zawarta muzyka i piosenki zadedykowane do Świętej Marii Dziewicy.

Sunday, April 29-th – OPUS 2018 – Gala Concert with O.Koshetz Ukrainian choir and Le Chorale des Intrepides at the Westminster United Church (corner of Westminster and Maryland)
Saturday, October 20-th – Polish Fest 2018 – Club Regent Event Centre, 1425 Regent Ave. West.
Saturday, November 10-th, 3:00PM – Anniversary of the Polish Independence Day Concert – Seven Oaks Performing Arts Center, 711 Jefferson Ave.

Chór Zespołu Pieśni i Tańca „Sokół” ogłasza listę koncertów w sesonie 2017/2018:
28-go pażdziernika – występ podczas uroczystości obchodów 100- lecia powstania St Johns Cantius Fraternal Aid Society.
4-go listopada występ podczas „Dnia Sokoła” w Casino Regent.
14-go stycznia – doroczny koncert kolęd i pastorałek w kościele św. Ducha.
29-go kwietnia – „Opus 2018” – koncert galowy muzyki chóralnej w wykonaniu połączonych chórów: O.Koshetz, La chorale des Intrepides i „Sokół” w Westminster United Church.
Chcieliśmy także przy tej okazji serdecznie zaprosić wszystkie osoby zainteresowane dołączeniem się do naszej wspaniałej grupy chóralnej o kontakt z Bernadettą Gabriel 204-338-5401 lub z Jerzym Bibikiem 204-895-2285.

Juno Awards for 2017
Congratulations to The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and KUDOS to “Sokol” Polish Folk Ensemble.
This year’s Classical Album of the Year award , at the Juno’s, was presented to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for the music score to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s presentation of “Going Home Star – Truth and Reconciliation” .
The conductor of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, for this production, was Sokol’s Music Director Tadeusz Biernacki

Mimo działkowej pogody, w tym roku, “Dni Sokoła” odwiedziło dużo więcej gości niż zazwyczaj. Chór zaprezentował się w dwóch blokach programowych. Oto dwie fotki z naszego występu.

W tę sobotę, 4 czerwca, Chór “Sokół” zaprasza wszystkich miłośników folkloru do Garden City Community Center na tzw. “Dni Sokoła”. Przewidzianych jest dużo atrakcji a przede wszystkim dobra muzyka i dobra kuchnia. Z resztą jak co roku.
Chór wystąpi w dwóch blokach; o godzinie 7 i 8 wieczorem. W repertuarze wiele ciekawych pieśni. Warto posłuchać.

This coming Saturday, June the 4th, our “Sokół” Choir will be performing at the Garden City Community Center as a part of “Sokół Days”. Everybody is invited. We will present traditional Polish folk songs and organizers are inviting for delicious food. Lots of fun and many attractions

My congratulations to all who took part in this Valentine’s Fundraiser. Yes, it was a wonderful success of which we can all be proud.
I would like to express special thanks to Kamila Kosciuczyk for chairing the organizing committee and the poster and ticket design. Kamila and Derek also did a lot of errands purchasing supplies and setting up and decorating our hall.
Many thanks to our members who also helped out with the hall decorations; as you have seen some of our decorations were hand made and gave the place that special touch for the evening.
Thanks are in order to Jerzy Bibik for being in charge of our ticket sales and updating me daily on the progress; and of course to Kaz Malkiewicz for looking after our liquor permit and all our liquor delivery and returns..
Thanks to Andrew Kuciel for doing a great job as an MC for the evening, and for preparing an excellent power point presentation giving our event more sophisticated/techy look.
It was nice to have Krzyś Malkiewicz as our DJ for the evening.
We are also grateful to Irena Dudek, of Polsat Centre, for helping us with the ticket sales and for her donation for the silent auction.
Thanks to all of our invited guest performers; they certainly were terrific and the public truly enjoyed them.
Finally thank you to our soloists and our choir for the great work and of course to Tadeusz Biernacki for his program and accompanying us the entire evening.
Our buffet, prepared by Jan Leszczyński of M&S Meats was good, generous, on time, and well received.
The dessert buffet table was prepared by some of my friends including Bogdan Dubiel’s wife. Everyone told me that they have never seen such a varied and generous dessert buffet. To those ladies I say thank you and they will receive a thank you card from us.
I was most moved when I had people not from our ensemble, approach me to offer help including the young Greek soloist, Costa Ginakes – that was sweet.
Once more, many thanks to all the people who came through to make the fundraiser a great success.

Pod jego kierownictwem, Organizacja ta od wielu lat prężnie działa w Winnipegu i ściśle współpracuje z Zespołem Pieśni i Tańca “Sokół” propagując naszą Historię, Tradycję i Kulturę.
Właśnie w siedzibie Polskiego Towarzystwa “Sokół”, w tę sobotę organizowany jest ekscytujący wieczór “Walentynkowy”, w którym wezmą udział specjalnie zaproszeni artyści prezentujący dobrze znane, romantyczne szlagiery polskiej jak i zagranicznej piosenki miłosnej. Któż nie zna “Michelle” czy “Quando, quando…”.
“Rety, co to za cudna rzecz KOBIETY!” – mawiał Sztaudinger.

January 17,2016 Koncert Kolęd (Christmas Concert) at Holy Ghost Church
17 stycznia br., jak co roku, odbył się wspaniały Koncert Kolęd w wykonaniu Chóru “Sokół” pod dyrekcją Tadeusza Biernackiego. Tak jak w zeszłym roku, Kościół Św. Ducha na Selkirk rozbrzmiał przebogatą paletą dźwięków, harmonii i bliskimi nam wszystkim kolędami zarówno współczesnymi jak i tymi, których słuchaliśmy jako małe szkraby jeszcze kiedyś w domu.
Całość podobno wypadła znakomicie ale co tu się dziwić, Tadeusz potrafił zebrać wokół siebie wielu bardzo dobrych muzyków, którzy tak jak w zeszłym roku urozmaicili repertuar. Udało mu się również wprowadzić na “deski estrady” najmłodszych, przyszłych członków Chóru. Maluchy, ku uciesze publiczności dały z siebie wszystko co zostało docenione głośnymi, obfitymi brawami.
Warto podkreślić, że przygotowanie takiej imprezy wymaga wiele wysiłku i czasu i tylko dzięki poświęceniu wszystkich zaangażowanych w to osób a szczególnie Kierownika Chóru – Bernadetty Gabriel, dostępny w przyszłości dysk DVD powędruje z pewnością do kolekcji Koncertów “z najwyższej półki”. Brawo i uznanie dla wszystkich uczestników!
