- Sokoł’s Ensemble (Choir) under the direction of Tadeusz Biernacki presents a concert of choral, vocal, and operatic music by Stanisław Moniuszko. Stanisław Moniuszko (1819-1872) is the creator of Polish national opera. His compositions, including the famous operas Halka and The Haunted Manor, are deeply inspired by Polish folklore and history. The program highlights Moniuszko’s vast output, including over 300 songs, chamber works, and sacred compositions.

Juno Awards for 2017
Congratulations to The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and KUDOS to “Sokol” Polish Folk Ensemble. This year’s Classical Album of the Year award , at the Juno’s, was presented to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for the music score to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s presentation of “Going Home Star – Truth and Reconciliation” . The conductor of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, for this production, was Sokol’s Music Director Tadeusz Biernacki
